In the Absence of the Body
Spatial Installation
White chair, ceramic objects, newspaper article, clay cup,
2025
This spatial installation opens up a space for
reflection, in which absence has a powerful
visual and emotional presence. The white
chair and ceramic objects bear traces of use
and memory. The ever-changing daylight
emphasises how our perspectives shift over
time and the ways in which the sculpture
coexists with the space. A newspaper
clipping from the 1990s provides a
sociopolitical counterpoint, juxtaposing the
everyday with the historical and the personal
with the collective.
