Interactive performance

Readapt is an interactive performance in which I explore
the nature of observation and perception in the digital
age and the boundaries of intimacy. I create a setting in
which the viewer sits directly opposite to me, observing
my face and eyes through a camera while a close-up of
one of my eyes is projected onto the wall. This places
the viewer in an intimate one-on-one situation, removing
them from the collective audience and placing them in
a heightened state of attention.
In this configuration, the viewer enters a space where
they are both observer and observed, shifting between
subject and object. This layered dynamic encourages
reflection on one’s role within systems of looking, while
creating a shared space of presence between me and
the audience.
